Infiltrators will be removed, won’t get voting rights: Bandi
Responding to criticism that the Narendra Modi-led government in the Centre has not deported illegal infiltrators since taking office in 2014, he said they had entered the country before 2014.
by Press Trust of India · The Siasat DailyHyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar said on Tuesday, November 3, that illegal infiltrators would be driven out of the country and would not be allowed to vote.
Responding to criticism that the Narendra Modi-led government in the Centre has not deported illegal infiltrators since taking office in 2014, he said they had entered the country before 2014.
He also accused the Congress of opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens.
Addressing the ‘Save Democracy – Remove Anarchy’ padayatra at Nirmal, the district headquarters town, he said, “The SIR (Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls) is not against any individual. Only the citizens of this country should decide who becomes PM, MP or MLA. If people from countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan or Afghanistan say they will decide the PM, the BJP will drive them out.”
“There is no question of giving voting rights to those who do not belong to this country. If the opposition keeps protesting like this, we will bring in the NRC too. We will drive illegal foreign nationals out,” he said.
‘Amid drought, CM went to Delhi for INDIA rally’
He claimed that Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi was empty when the INDIA bloc held a rally there on November 1, while the padayatra led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Hyderabad on November 2 drew lakhs of people.
He criticised the Congress and the BRS for portraying him and state BJP president N Ramchander Rao in a poor light on social media after the Hyderabad padayatra.
He said that while people were in distress due to deficient rainfall, the ruling Congress leaders in the state had spent their time on the INDIA bloc rally in Delhi.
Sanjay Kumar also lashed out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his remark that Telangana Congress workers had gone to New Delhi as a ‘vanara sena’ (army of monkeys) to help defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom Reddy likened to Ravana.
“Given the chance, Revanth Reddy would compare ‘Raul Gandy’ (as he pronounced Rahul Gandhi) of the Italian clan with Lord Rama,” he said.
Bandi likens Modi to Lord Shiva
Describing Modi as a ‘Maha Rishi’ who works for the country and the welfare of the poor, he said the PM was enduring criticism from his opponents just as Lord Shiva bore poison in his throat.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, he asked why the Congress had not opposed the SIR, which he said had been conducted ten times while the party was in power.
State BJP president N Ramchander Rao, who also spoke, condemned the Congress’ ‘vote chori’ allegations against the BJP.
He said that while Reddy’s ‘brain’ had been stolen, Rahul Gandhi had himself committed ‘name chori’ by taking the Gandhi name from Mahatma Gandhi.
