Kamareddy Collector’s fake WhatsApp, Insta accounts: Complaint

A cybercrime case had been registered, and an investigation is underway, Sub-Inspector Balreddy said.

Kamareddy: Kamareddy Collectorate officials have lodged a police complaint over fake WhatsApp and Instagram accounts in the name of District Collector Ashish Sangwan.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report on Monday, October 26, the Collectorate officials were able to identify the fake accounts and alert the police. Collectorate Administrative Officer (AO) Ahmed Hussain filed his complaint at the Devunipalli police station.

In his complaint, he pointed out that the accounts could damage the Collectorate’s reputation and could be used for illegal activities.

A cybercrime case had been registered, and an investigation is underway, Sub-Inspector Balreddy said. With the help of the IP addresses and the phone numbers linked to the accounts, police are trying to trace the culprits, said the report.
