In a meeting with Vaishnaw at the Rail Bhavan in New Delhi, Reddy discussed several major railway infrastructure projects proposed for Telangana and requested the Centre to expedite their approvals.

Telangana will initiate land acquisition only after Centre’s nod: CM

The CM clarrified that the state government has not initiated land acquisition for any of the three proposed high-speed rail corridors. He added that the acquisition will commence after the Centre’s nod. He told the Union Minister that the state would take up the land acquisition process only after the Centre finalises and approves the alignments.

The Telangana CM urged the Railway Ministry to complete the alignment process at the earliest so that the projects could progress to the next stage.

Reddy also urged the Union government to finalise the alignment of the proposed 360-km Regional Ring Rail (RRR) around Hyderabad.

New railway lines proposed

He said developing the railway network parallel to the road corridor would improve regional connectivity and create large-scale employment opportunities. Reddy reiterated his request for the immediate sanction of six proposed railway lines to improve connectivity across the state.

These railway lines include the Dornakal-Gadwal railway line, Kalwakurthy-Macherla railway line, Kachiguda-Jaggayyapeta railway line (250 km), Patancheru-Adilabad railway line, Bodhan-Latur railway line (175 km) and Akkanapet bypass line (8 km).

Reddy sought immediate approval for the proposed 130-km Vikarabad-Krishna railway line.

The CM informed Vaishnaw that significant limestone deposits had been discovered around Tekalkode in Vikarabad district.

The Telangana government is planning to transform the region into a cement and textile hub. Improved railway connectivity through the proposed line would support industrial development and facilitate the movement of goods.
