Man stripped, tonsured over car rental dues in Hyderabad, 5 held

A dispute arose after the car developed scratches, and Malik demanded Rs 40,000 towards rental charges and repair expenses.

Hyderabad: Five men were arrested for allegedly stripping a man, tonsuring his head, assaulting him and forcing him to dance naked before filming him on a mobile phone over a dispute involving car rental dues.

Arbaaz from Gudimalkapur took a self-drive car on rent about six months ago from Malik, who lives in Alkapur. Malik had reportedly obtained the vehicle from Nouman on a commission basis and handed it over to Arbaaz.

According to Golconda Police, a dispute arose after the car developed scratches. Malik demanded Rs 40,000 towards rental charges and repair expenses. Arbaaz paid a portion of the amount but failed to clear the remaining dues, leading to a dispute.

Two days ago, Malik, along with his friends Mustafa, Khurram, Maaz and Fardeen, took Arbaaz to a room in Gulshan Colony. The five men assaulted him, stripped him and shaved his head. They reportedly forced him to dance naked and recorded videos of the incident on a mobile phone.

Golconda police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Police arrested all five suspects and produced them before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
