Hyderabad girls’ hostel raided over suspected egg racket

A case of cheating under Section 318(4) and a case of wrongful confinement under Section 127 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have been registered and the investigation is underway.

Hyderabad: A women’s hostel in the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate was raided on Friday, October 30, over a suspected egg collection racket.

The raid was conducted at the Ami Neeta Girls Hostel in Prakash Nagar by the Malkajgiri Police Special Operations Team in the afternoon. According to local reports, 10 women from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha have been detained.

“We seized syringes and some contraceptive pills from the hostel premises and sent them for testing at the Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. Whether the women were ovulating and a racket was being operated from the hostel would be confirmed based on the medical report,” Begumpet Station House Officer (SHO) Saidulu told Siasat.com.

He added that a case of cheating under Section 318(4) and a case of wrongful confinement under Section 127 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have been registered and the investigation is underway.
