Hyderabad: Nearly 91 lakh voter records have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral roll under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Telangana, said the Election Commission.

Around 1.3 lakh cases are still pending, and 54,418 voters have been found ineligible.

According to the data released by Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy on Friday, November 6, of the 92.8 lakh voters to whom notices were issued during the revision process, nearly 98 per cent have been cleared. Among these, 59.7 lakh were under the logical discrepancy category, and 31 lakh were marked as no-mapping.

All of them have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral roll.

The Election Commission data states Telangana had 3.38 crore registered voters before the SIR exercise began this year. During the revision, 73.3 lakh names were removed from the list under four categories: Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD).

Now the registered number stands at 2.65 crore voters.

97 pc SIR notices cleared from Greater Hyderabad

The data reveals that under the Greater Hyderabad region, 38.9 lakh notices were issued, which is nearly 42 per cent of the total notices issued across the state. Of these, 37.9 lakh (97.4 per cent) cases have already been cleared for final publication. CEO Sudarshan Reddy said the final number of voters in Telangana would depend on the pending cases, new applications, and the publication of the final electoral roll.

The previous day, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced it would provide another opportunity to electors in seven states, including Telangana, marked as ASDD, whose enumeration forms were issued but not received back. It said that electors should submit their duly filled forms to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant ERO corresponding to their current residence. The forms will be generated afresh in the ERO dashboard in ECINET.

Those who were marked as ASDD and have relocated to a new address within the same state need not fill out Form 8 and instead submit a fresh enumeration form, a signed statement clearly listing their new address and Assembly Constituency, along with proof of address.

Electors who missed submitting an enumeration form during SIR and whose residence remains the same should submit a completed and signed enumeration form.
