A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the killing of a 61-year-old woman who was found dead on a sidewalk in April, Las Vegas police said Wednesday.

The teen, whose name was not released, was taken into custody May 5 and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of open murder, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release.

An unresponsive woman — later identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Marceline Biasini — was found lying on a sidewalk in the 3500 block of East Bonanza Road, near North Pecos Road, just after 8 a.m. on April 21.

Police said the woman died at the scene and added she had been battered at some point during the night.

Biasini died of blunt head trauma and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner.
