Las Vegas police officer arrested on theft, burglary and perjury charges

A Las Vegas police officer was arrested on charges of theft, burglary and perjury on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Antonio Chavez was booked into Clark County Detention Center on one count of theft between $25,000 and $100,000, four counts of burglary of a business and one count of perjury, according to a news release.

The department said that Chavez has been with Metro since 2020 and was assigned to the Community Safety Division, Northwest Area Command.

Metro has placed Chavez on suspension without pay pending further investigation, the release said.
