Metro corrections officer accused of lewdness in presence of child, soliciting prostitution
by Bryan Horwath / Las Vegas Review-Journal · Las Vegas Review-JournalA Las Vegas police corrections officer was arrested Thursday on suspicion of lewdness in the presence of a child and soliciting prostitution, according to a police news release and court records.
Quincy D. Brown, 34, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of open and gross lewdness in the presence of a minor, six counts of open and gross lewdness, and 10 counts of soliciting or engaging in prostitution, according to the Metropolitan Police Department and Las Vegas Justice Court records.
Brown has been employed with Metro since 2017, according to the release. He was last assigned to Metro’s Detention Services Division in that division’s South Tower Bureau, Metro said.
Brown will be placed on suspension of police powers without pay pending further investigation, Metro said. As of Thursday afternoon, Brown remained in custody, according to an online jail roster. He was being held without bail.
According to court records, Brown’s alleged crimes happened on multiple dates in January, February, March and April.
The lewdness charge that allegedly involved a child under the age of 18 happened April 24, according to online records.
Brown is scheduled to have an initial appearance court hearing on Friday.
