Resident fires shot after hit-and-run driver tries to enter Las Vegas home, police say

A hit-and-run crash late Monday night in the northeast Las Vegas Valley led to a shooting after one of the drivers tried to enter a nearby home, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in a text message that the shooting stemmed from a hit-and-run crash near Alexander Road and Steinbeck Drive.

Police said one of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene and tried to enter a nearby home.

A resident in the house fired a shot at the driver that was trying to enter the home. No one was hit by gunfire, police said.
