Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in west Las Vegas

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Thursday morning in the west Las Vegas Valley, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department said the crash occurred at about 1:21 a.m. near Flamingo Road and El Capitan Way.

Police said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection.

The driver did not stop at the scene, authorities said. The pedestrian was pronounced dead.
