LETTER: Allowing felons to carry guns?

I read in the Review-Journal this week that President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice wants to restore gun rights to people with certain felony convictions. I’m trying to figure out why an administration focused on getting criminals off the streets would want convicted felons to be armed. Why not just allow drug dealers to have their paraphernalia, too?
