LETTER: Engrossed by Trump’s State of the Union

In the Review-Journal’s Feb. 26 editorial, you wonder how many people had the stamina to watch the State of the Union address (108 minutes) from beginning to end. Strangely, it was the first time I have ever watched the entire program. I was completely engrossed from beginning to end. I felt so hopeful for our country again.

It had been a disastrous four years before Donald Trump. (Never my favorite person before now.)

I found the entire conduct of the Democratic Party at the address disgusting. Many Democrats showed their hatred for America with all they did and did not do during the State of the Union. I found the behavior painful and disgusting. Thanks to Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pennsylvania, for being a proud American no matter what party he belongs to.

I used to be a Democrat. I am so glad that I changed to Republican after Kennedy’s term.
