Las Vegas fire departments send support to Ward fire in Northern Nevada

Southern Nevada fire departments were deployed to Nothern Nevada to help fight a wildfire outside of Ely, Clark County officials said Sunday.

The Ward Fire, about nine miles southwest of Ely, is currently at 5,717 acres and 0 percent contained, according to Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Brian O’Neal. Henderson Fire Department, North Las Vegas Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire Rescue and Clark County Fire Department provided engines and staff. They are expected to be gone for up to two weeks.
