Metro: Woman dead after shooting in east Valley

A woman was fatally shot on Monday in the east Las Vegas Valley, according to police.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in an email that detectives were investigating a fatal shooting that occurred near the 2800 block of Karen Avenue, near East Sahara Road and McLeod Drive, at 11:31 a.m.

Metro is expected to provide information at a later time, but no additional information was provided.
