After Trump endorsements, Republican group hopes candidates unseat Titus, Lee
by Ricardo Torres-Cortez / Las Vegas Review-Journal · Las Vegas Review-JournalWeeks before Nevada’s primary elections, the National Republican Congressional Committee is throwing resources behind two Republican congressional candidates running to unseat Democratic Reps. Dina Titus and Susie Lee.
Both Nevada state Sen. Carrie Ann Buck, R-Clark County, and award-winning composer Marty O’Donnell were endorsed by President Donald Trump on April 14.
This week, the NRCC announced they were among 17 candidates added to its 2026 MAGA Majority program, which will provide early support — including strategic resources and added visibility — for congressional seats the party deems it can win.
“The MAGA Majority program highlights a slate of strong candidates running in key battleground districts across the country who embody the Trump agenda: securing the border, lowering costs, restoring energy dominance, and putting American workers first,” the NRCC said in its announcement.
MAGA Majority was previously named the Young Guns program.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee promptly reacted to its Republican counterpart’s announcement, tying the NRCC’s move to Trump’s agenda and saying in a statement that they’d “sealed their fate.”
Candidates in primaries
Buck is running to replace Titus. She is in a five-way Republican primary against Jim Blockey, Marie Encar Arnold, Michael Boris and Rick Saga.
“Carrie Buck is a proven fighter for Nevada families who knows that common sense still matters,” said NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez in a statement. “She’s ready to help House Republicans lower costs, secure the border, and send out of touch Socialist Democrat Dina Titus into retirement.”
O’Donnell is a repeat candidate for District 3.
He became a video game composer after founding a commercial music and sound production company. He was later hired as the audio director and composer for the developer behind the popular “Halo” games.
“Marty O’Donnell is ready to finish the fight for Nevada families who are tired of being ignored by crooked Susie Lee and her failed Democrat policies,” Martinez said in a statement. “He’s ready to help House Republicans lower costs, strengthen our economy, and send Susie Lee packing.”
O’Donnell is in a four-way Republican primary race against Jeff Gunter, Tera Anderson and Aury Nagy.
“By accepting Republican party bosses’ toxic endorsement, both Buck and O’Donnell are making clear to Nevadans that they would be rubberstamps for an extreme MAGA agenda that includes gutting health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires, instituting reckless tariffs that are hiking prices on families and destroying Las Vegas’ economy, and undermining workers,” DCCC spokesperson Lindsay Reilly said in a statement.
