Las Vegas Realtors elect new officers, board of directors for 2027

Local realtor Shane Nguyen has been named the president of Las Vegas Realtors for 2027, replacing outgoing president George Kypreos.

LVR, which is the largest real estate association in Southern Nevada, announced the results of its annual election of officers and board members, which also includes Stephanie Grant serving as president-elect for next year. Nguyen said in an email response to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’s thrilled and honored to be leading LVR in this new innovative chapter.

“We are focused on bringing value to our 15,000 members in Southern Nevada and the consumers they serve,” he said. “Over the last year, we began important strategic work to elevate our organization by expanding member services, including education, programming, tools and services, and advocacy, to equip them to best handle and embrace industry challenges and opportunities. I look forward to working with the rest of our leadership to continue our current momentum to ensure the sustainability of LVR.”

LVR members voted in September. Grant will serve as president-elect during 2027 and then become president in 2028.

The trade association has been embroiled in controversy for years, which included a passed vote to remove Kypreos as president in 2025 because of a class action lawsuit that named his brokerage. He refused to leave the position, and the lawsuit has since been thrown out.

Multiple members of LVR filed formal complaints against the association with the Nevada attorney general’s office in November, the Review-Journal previously reported.

More than 50 members of the LVR in August 2024 protested some still serving on the board of directors despite being investigated internally and by a third party in connection with election tampering allegations. Agents who spoke to the Review-Journal said LVR Chief Executive Officer Wendy DiVecchio tampered with the election and conspired to help Britney Gaitan win the vice president seat on the board over Grant.

DiVecchio was suspended for 30 days because of the allegations. She was later fired from her role and has since sued the LVR and a number of high-ranking current and former members for her dismissal.

Law firm Greenberg Traurig was hired to conduct a third-party investigation into the allegations of election tampering, but the report has yet to be made public.

The LVR has approximately 15,000 members and wields its power through access to the Multiple Listings Service, where the majority of homes are listed for sale. Board meetings are held monthly.
