Metro announces route of funeral procession for recently fallen officer

The Metropolitan Police Department announced the funeral route for recently slain officer Austin Abdelnabi Wednesday.

The procession will depart Palm Mortuary near downtown at 9 a.m. on Friday and travel to Central Church in Henderson for a funeral service. The procession will begin its travels north on Jones Boulevard before getting on Interstate 11 and navigating through a network of major arteries in the Las Vegas Valley to honor Abdelbabi, who was killed in a gunfight earlier this month.

Metro said motorists should anticipate traffic delays in and around the procession route and at the church until approximately 10 a.m.
