Melania Trump reveals in her new memoir — set to his shelves this week — that she is pro-choice, The Guardian reports.

Her husband, former President Donald Trump, has stated that he does not regret selecting conservative Supreme Court justices who would later overturn Roe v. Wade — which protected the constitutional right to abortion.

In the book obtained by The Guardian, the 2024 GOP nominee's wife wrote, "It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government."

She continued, "Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes."

Some Republicans have criticized Donald Trump over his flip-flopping on the issue of abortion.

"One day, he seems to be staking out a moderate and pragmatic position on abortion; the next, he seems to be doubling down on his opposition to it," The Hill's Austin Sarat noted last month.

In April, the Wall Street Journal reported that "abortion is the most powerful issue driving suburban women who could decide the presidential election. The publican found through polling seven battleground states "that 39% of suburban women cite abortion as a make-or-break issue for their vote—making it by far the most motivating issue for the group. Nearly three-quarters of them say the procedure should be legal all or most of the time, and a majority thinks Trump’s policies are too restrictive."

In sidestep with the women surveyed, the former First Lady emphasized in her memoir, "Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life."
