Three Dallas-based companies partnered with the Dallas Police Department to do something good for kids heading back to school.

In two days over two weeks, patrol officers and company volunteers got 582 pairs of new tennis shoes to nearly 400 Dallas-area children.

Pictures show sweet moments as officers on bended knee checked to make sure the kids got a perfect fit.

For many of the children, it was the first pair of new shoes they had ever received.

Energy Transfer, Sunoco, and USA Compression Partners joined the police department's northwest division in a show of support for kids as they get ready to step into a new year.
