Person rescued from 2nd-story apartment fire in Arlington

The person was transported to an area hospital.

First responders rescued one person while crews battled an Arlington apartment fire Wednesday morning.

The Arlington Fire Department responded to the apartment fire in the 2100 block of Parks Springs Circle around 8:45 a.m. after receiving multiple calls.

The first firefighters on the scene said they could see smoke and flames coming from the second floor of a two-story apartment building and called for a second alarm.

According to the fire department, firefighters rescued one person from the second-floor balcony. That person was transported to a local hospital and their condition is unknown.

The Pantego Fire Department assisted on the scene.

No firefighter injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross responded to help displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
