Carbon monoxide incident prompts major response at a North Texas nursing home

Multiple agencies are on scene as crews evaluate patients and investigate reported high carbon monoxide levels.

Multiple emergency agencies are responding to a reported carbon monoxide incident at a nursing and rehabilitation facility in Terrell.

According to emergency officials, crews are investigating high levels of carbon monoxide at a facility in the 200 block of W. Nash St.

The response includes Terrell police and fire personnel, Kaufman County EMS, CareFlite and other agencies. Cedar Hill Fire Department has also been requested to send its Ambulance Bus, or AmBus, to assist at the scene.

Kaufman County EMS confirmed crews are working a carbon monoxide incident.

As of Tuesday afternoon, patients are being evaluated and treated on scene. Officials said no patient transfers have occurred at this time.

In a statement, Terrell police said the fire department is actively investigating and asked the public to avoid the area while emergency operations continue.

Officials have not released information about how many people may have been affected. The investigation remains ongoing.
