Serious crash injures three on DNT, related diesel spill prompts HazMat response

Dallas police and fire are on scene gathering information.

Dallas police and fire responded to a serious crash on the Dallas North Tollway at Northwest Highway (also known as Loop 12).

On Friday around 11:08 a.m. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a major accident.

Police say it was a multi-car crash involving a semi-truck. Multiple injuries were reported.

Police are just starting their investigation.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said the truck hit multiple vehicles and then a wall.

DFR confirmed that the accident involved a total of 6 vehicles including the 18-wheeler that landed on its side.

NBC 5 has learned that three people were hospitalized and are in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 18-wheeler was carrying diesel, which spilled 170 gallons and prompted a HazMat response, according to DFR.

The NTTA has taken control of the scene and will address the remaining clean-up so the roadways can be reopened.

DFR says all southbound lanes of the DNT are closed from Walnut Hill Lane to Northwest Highway.
