47-year-old motorcyclist dead after crash with 18-wheeler in Arlington

The crash caused both the 47-year-old man and a female passenger to be thrown from the bike.

A 47-year-old man is dead and a woman is injured after a motorcycle crashed with an 18-wheeler in Arlington Saturday evening.

Arlington police said the crash happened around 9:13 p.m. in the 3900 block of Avenue E East.

Investigators determined that the motorcycle crashed into the side of the 18-wheeler as its driver was attempting to turn left out of a store parking lot onto Avenue E, as the motorcycle was traveling eastbound along Avenue E was coming around a curve in the road.

The crash caused both the 47-year-old man and a female passenger to be thrown from the bike.

The man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The female passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and declined transport to the hospital.

Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

As of Sunday, July 26, no criminal charges have been filed in connection to the crash, which remains under investigation.
