Flower Mound police investigate deaths of 3 people after welfare check

Three people were found dead inside a Flower Mound home Wednesday after police were called to conduct a welfare check, according to Flower Mound police.

Officers were called to the home on Sunrise Circle just before 11 a.m. after family members asked police to check on two residents who had not shown up for work and could not be reached.

Police entered the home and discovered three people dead inside.

Details about what happened remained limited Wednesday night. Flower Mound police Deputy Chief Henry Lucio said the victims are believed to be related and that gunshots appear to have been involved.

“We’re at the infancy of our investigation right now, so we will gather the evidence and wherever the leads take us we will follow up, but I can say there’s not a threat to the community at this time; we do believe it's an isolated incident,” Lucio said.

Detectives remained at the home nearly 12 hours after police were initially called, processing the scene for evidence.

Police have not released the names of the victims or details about the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, including surveillance video that might be related to the incident, to contact Flower Mound police.
