Letter to the editor: A historic salvation
· The Washington TimesOPINION:
For 47 years, the regime in Iran slaughtered its own people, terrorized its neighbors and chanted, “Death to America!” while building bigger, deadlier weapons.
President Trump gave it more than its fair chance and time to make historic decisions. The world’s top terrorism exporter is now in our crosshairs. The regime’s power elite chose wrong when it counted the most for them personally.
Iran has finally been heard screaming for help. Mr. Trump and our best friend and ally in the Middle East have swooped in together and rescued the people of Iran. Having been captive for so long, the Iranian people celebrate in the streets without fear of being hanged or shot.
With their bold actions and unbending resolve, Mr. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have altered history for the better. It was a dream lying stagnant for nearly five decades, years waiting for the warrior or statesman to pick up and take control for the good of mankind.
Mr. Trump has accomplished more in his first year back as president than the last five presidents combined. Yet he will still be challenged, hounded and attacked relentlessly while Americans look on in growing disgust and revulsion.
The world will celebrate its good fortune as America politely tips its hat.
