Ghanaians voted against NPP because we refused to give them money on election day- Robert Sarfo Mensah

The newly elected Ahafo Regional Chairman on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, Robert Sarfo Mensah, widely known as Booba has revealed one of the reasons why Ghanaians voted against the NPP in the last General election.

The politician disclosed this while speaking on Lawson TV’s “Ghana Se Sen” show earlier today, August 20, 2026.

Booba claims that following the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general election, the leaders of the party took time off their busy schedules to figure out what caused that.

Following their investigation, Robert Sarfo Mensah claims the majority of voters wanted the party to sort them out before they voted.

He shared instances where people who traveled from far distances requested that their transportation be sorted out before they would vote for the party, adding that, some even went to the extent of voting for the presidential candidate but chose not to vote for the parliamentary candidate until they were sorted out.

“One thing that didn’t help us and needs to be worked on is that, during the day of the election, people who traveled from long distances expected the party to sort them out. How this was managed badly affected us a lot”, he said.

He added, “Because when we were monitoring the election, we observed that, people who traveled from long distances were standing there and when we approached them, they said they had not been sorted out so they wouldn’t vote”
