More Than 100,000 Voters Have Cast Their Ballots In Oklahoma
· NewsTalk 1290The first day of early voting for the General Election in Oklahoma included long lines and hours of waiting to cast ballots. Early voting started Wednesday, Oct. 30 and will continue through Saturday, Nov. 2.
According to the Oklahoma State Election Board, more than 100,000 voters cast their ballot on the state's first day of voting.
Oklahomans should prepare for more long lines and waiting when voting.
Videos and photos of long lines for early voting in Oklahoma started making the rounds on social media early Wednesday. Early voting began at 8 a.m. Wednesday and lines kept a long length and steady pace until the polls closed at 6 p.m. for much of Oklahoma.
Some voters in places like Oklahoma City even had to wait to get into the parking lot of the early voting location. This was before they could get in line to wait to vote on Wednesday.
Early voting will continue on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Voters are expected to continue to turn out in droves before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6, which could also see much of the same action as early voting. Early voting will continue in Oklahoma on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Early voting will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters will be able to vote at their designated polling place on Election Day.
