The meeting kicked off with a performance from Mariachi Corazones de San Jose, the only mariachi group in El Paso made up of students from Pre-K through 8th grade.

The precious and powerful group performed “De Colores,” and a few other songs and as they wrapped up the whole room gave them a full standing ovation.

UTEP Cheerleaders and Pay Dirt Pete Join The BTS Fun

The UTEP Cheerleaders and the iconic Paydirt Pete came through with a BTS-themed cheer chant that had the entire room hyped. Jorge from the UTEP Office of Special Events took the floor next to thank Judge Samaniego for recognizing the impact of BTS coming to El Paso.

“These events are far more than concerts,” said Jorge, “They are statements about who we are and what we can achieve together. They represent where El Paso stands on the global stage.”
