Tilburg man arrested after threatening to kill paramedics who responded to his emergency
A 60-year-old man from Tilburg was arrested Saturday night after threatening ambulance workers who had responded to help him after he fell down a staircase, Omroep Brabant reports. Ambulance crews arrived at about 10:15 p.m. on Capucijnenstraat.
The man lost consciousness after the fall, police reported. He regained it after the paramedics tested his consciousness with a painful stimulus.
Upon waking up, the man was explained by the crews that he had a fall and that the paramedics were there to help. He then threatened to kill them and tried striking them, after which police were called.
He was then taken to a hospital under a police escort and placed on a stretcher in handcuffs. After the medical treatment, he was arrested on suspicion of threatening the ambulance personnel. He was taken to a police detention facility, where he was expected to be questioned on Sunday. The ambulance workers filed a complaint against the man.
