Body found near Swolgen home; 46-year-old man arrested in homocide probe
Police have found the body of a man near a residence in Swolgen, Limburg. A 46-year-old mad from the same town has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a homicide, according to the police.
The discovery of the body followed a “suspicious situation” Friday evening at a wooded parcel near the village of Zeeland, which is roughly 50 kilometers away.
A press release states that officers escalated the response “based on the situation they encountered” at Duifhuis in the village of Zeeland. However, according to the RTL, police are refusing to release any details.
Forensic investigators and sniffer dogs were deployed, which led them to the 46-year-old. Police then began a large-scale investigation in and around the suspect’s home.
The victim’s body was discovered in that area on Saturday night. Police are refusing to provide the victim’s age or identity.
According to the press release, the discovery is a part of a major criminal investigation by the Oost-Brabant police. The nature of the investigation, just like a lot of details in the case, remains unclear, according to RTL.
