Biting incident sparks bachelor party brawl in Rotterdam; Two arrested

A bachelor party spiraled out of control last night in Rotterdam, resulting in a violent altercation that left several police officers with injuries and the arrest of two men. The incident unfolded on the Westblaak, a busy central thoroughfare in Rotterdam, Rijnmond reported.

It was reported that a group of men had already been causing public disturbances and drinking heavily throughout the night prior to the incident. Police had spoken to the group and asked them to leave the city center after encountering them several times.

The group ignored the police’s orders and the situation escalated on the Westblaak. According to reports, two of the group got into a heated argument, which then escalated rapidly when one bit the other. The second man retaliated, launching into a physical attack that sparked a larger brawl.

Rotterdam police officers immediately moved in to break up the fight, but the heavily intoxicated group turned against them. The main suspect fought back aggressively, requiring multiple officers to physically wrestle him to the ground and place him under control. Shortly after, the second combatant involved in the initial fight was also detained.

Several police officers suffered minor injuries, including scrapes, cuts, and bruises, which they sustained after attempting to subdue members of the group, de Haven Loods reported.

The two men spent the evening in jail. They are facing criminal charges for disturbing the public order and resisting arrest with violence.
