17-year-old boy arrested for groping 9 women in Dordrecht region

The police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht for sexually assaulting multiple women cycling in his hometown and the nearby Zwijndrecht in recent weeks. The boy is currently suspected of groping nine women, but the police think that there may be more victims.

In recent weeks, the police received reports from seven women that a boy on a fatbike cycled up to them and groped them. The attacks happened on bicycle paths on Hoge Kade and Sophialaan in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht and on Ringdijk in Zwijndrecht.

On June 22 and 23, there were two more incidents in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Based on the women’s description of the suspect, the police believe it is the same boy who attacked all nine women.

“More women may be victims of this suspect,” the police said, urging women assaulted by a teenager on a fatbike to contact them.

Investigators also asked witnesses and anyone with relevant camera footage to come forward.
