Police investigate drug advert flyers delivered to Utrecht households

Flyers advertising drugs have been delivered to several postboxes in Utrecht. Utrecht West police reported on Instagram that they have received numerous reports of the flyers, which feature the words “Let’s party” next to an illustration of various pills.

People can reportedly order drugs using the QR code or phone number printed on the flyer. The text also claims that the drugs are delivered quickly at any time of the day. Payments can be made by cash or through a payment request, the flyer says.

The areas where the flyers were received include the neighborhoods of Nieuw Engeland, Oog in Al, Lombok, Schepenbuurt, and Welgelegen. Whether the flyers were delivered to every home in those neighborhoods is not known.

Police said locals do not have to continue contacting them about the flyers. “We are now aware of the situation and are investigating it. Therefore, you no longer need to report this to us.”

Drugs have been advertised in this way before. In 2024, flyers were delivered to mailboxes in several other Utrecht neighborhoods, including Uithof, Lunetten, and Hoograven.

The flyers featured options of ecstasy pills for 20 euros, one gram of ketamine for 25, and one gram of cocaine for 50 euros. “Do not respond to the offer and throw the flyer in the trash as soon as possible,” a police spokesperson said at the time.
