Fugitive wanted for killing his father in Poland arrested in Dinteloord

The police’s Fugitive Active Search Team (FASTNL) arrested a 31-year-old Polish man in Dinteloord last week. He is wanted in Poland for murdering his father and could face life in prison, the police reported on Monday.

FASTNL arrested the man at his place of employment on Wednesday based on new information, the police said, without providing further details. According to the police, he was on the run for some time.

The man is wanted in Poland for aggravated assault and murder. The victim was the suspect’s father. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Poland has requested the man’s extradition. He is in custody while that process is underway.

FASTNL is affiliated with ENFAST, a partnership of fugitive-hunting teams from police forces across the European Union. In this partnership, the various police forces are able to share information about fugitives more quickly.

“International cooperation is crucial, as an estimated majority of fugitives choose to hide outside their own national borders. This collaboration enables fugitives to be tracked down more quickly,” the police said.
