Police arrest 7 after 4-car crash, brawl in Oisterwijk, Noord-Brabant

Police arrested seven people Saturday evening in Oisterwijk, Noord-Brabant, after a collision involving four cars escalated into a brawl. The suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of public violence, police confirmed following reports by Omroep Brabant.

Officers responding to a call around 7:40 p.m. found two damaged vehicles on Nicolaas van Eschstraat. Several of those involved fled in two other cars. One injured person remained at the scene and was treated by ambulance crews, a police spokesperson said.

Another person still present was arrested. Officers stopped the two fleeing vehicles a short time later and arrested their occupants.

Overall, five men and two women were arrested. Three are from Baarle-Nassau, and the rest are from Tilburg. They range in age from 18 to 41. The suspects were set to be questioned on Sunday.

Omroep Brabant reported that blunt weapons were also recovered. Police reportedly suspect there may be more behind the original collision than a simple accident.
