Very warm days ahead: Temps reach 30-35°C Monday-Tuesday

August begins with a stretch of hot days expected this week in the Netherlands, Weeronline reports. The weather is expected to be "uncomfortably" warm until Wensday, when the wind will turn to the southwest across the country, sweeping away the very warm air.

A southerly airflow will transport very warm air on Monday and Tuesday, pushing temperatures to 30 degrees Celsius. Locally, the temperatures can reach as high as 35 degrees.

According to Weeronline, most people will find the heat excessive, particularly on Tuesday when humidity is expected to rise. Sunshine will dominate both days, interrupted by periods of cloud cover.

The risk of thunder is low on Monday. On Tuesday, however, the muggy and humid air mass could also produce isolated thunderstorms. The highest chance of showers is concentrated in the southeast.

Nights are expected to remain uncomfortably warm as well. The nights from Monday into Tuesday and Tuesday into Wednesday will feature minimum temperatures around 20 degrees. Urban areas could get even warmer. Nights later in the week are expected to become more comfortable.

A shift arrives Wednesday. The wind will turn to the southwest across the country, sweeping away the very warm air. Conditions will feel considerably more pleasant for most people than the muggy heat of the opening days.

Wednesday temperatures are forecast at 23 degrees near the coast and 28 degrees inland. On Thursday the readings will fall further to a range of 21 to 26 degrees. Both days will offer substantial sunshine mixed with passing clouds. Showers are possible mainly Thursday evening and Friday. These milder conditions will make outdoor activities far more appealing than during the peak heat.

Looking ahead to the following weekend, the pattern turns more changeable, with intermittent showers and sunshine. Temperatures will hold at a comfortable 20 to 25 degrees. Warmer weather remains possible after the weekend.
