Sindh warns schools of action over violations of transport safety rules
· Geo NewsThe Sindh Education Department has issued safety directives to private schools, prohibiting gas cylinders and unsafe practices in vehicles used to transport students.
Acting on the provincial education minister’s instructions, the department has prohibited CNG and LPG cylinders in all vehicles used to transport students, including school vans arranged by schools or parents.
The department has also prohibited supplying petrol directly to vehicle engines through bottles, cans or other makeshift containers instead of designated fuel tanks, warning that the practice poses serious safety risks.

All vehicles used for student transportation must have valid fitness certificates issued by the Sindh Transport Department. A copy of the certificate must be kept inside each vehicle for inspection.
The department has directed private educational institutions to ensure strict compliance with the safety requirements and all relevant laws.
It warned that violations or negligence would be viewed seriously and that the concerned school administrations would face action under the applicable rules.
