Two Chinese nationals died while 10 others got injured after a massive blast in a tanker rocked Karachi Airport in Pakistan on Sunday. The explosion targeted a convoy carrying Chinese staff of the Port Qasim Electric Power Company (Private) Limited.

The attack was targeted at Chinese nationals, one of whom got injured. Thousands of Chinese workers are in Pakistan, most of them involved in Beijing's multibillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative.

Footage of the blast showed flames engulfing cars and a thick column of smoke rising from the scene. One civil aviation worker said the explosion shook airport buildings.

Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) - which has in recent years carried out attacks on Chinese nationals involved in projects - has claimed responsibility for the attack.
