David Salifu, who served as Secretary to the Benue State Government under former Governor Gabriel Suswam, died after he was shot by suspected kidnappers along the Wukari-Zaki Biam road in Taraba State.

The attack occurred on Thursday along the Wukari–Makurdi road on the border outskirts connecting Taraba and Benue states.
