The directive, issued by the national leadership of the union, was confirmed by the Oyo State Chapter of the teachers’ body

The Chairman and Secretary of the Wing, Hassan Ajibola Fatai and Salami Olukayode, made the call in a statement on Saturday.

The demand was made during a peaceful protest staged by the Oyo State Teachers Action Group, which received the backing of the Nigeria Teachers Congress (NTC), a non-governmental organisation.
