Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire deal which promises the release of dozens of hostages held by Hamas and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel

Simon Harris said he hoped the deal will now receive the formal approval of the Israeli government.

Hamas reportedly accepted the draft phased agreement brokered by the mediators, Egypt, Qatar and the US, which includes provisions for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of numerous captives.
