A total of 18 illegal Chinese nationals were arrested in the Mongshu-Mongsan area of Mongshu Township in southern Shan State, near the Thanlwin River, and equipment and facilities used for online gambling operations were seized.

Ten more illegal Chinese nationals who had been involved in online scam and gambling operations and were attempting to flee were arrested near the Thanlwin River in Matman Township, according to reports. The Myanmar government has been carrying out operations to completely eliminate online scam and gambling activities from within the country, in cooperation with domestic organizations and neighboring governments.

Authorities have arrested three Chinese nationals allegedly involved in illegal online gambling and scam operations in Mongpan Township, southern Shan State, according to official reports.
