The National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) has ordered the withdrawal of hearings in 5,580 cases filed under Penal Code Section 505-A and Article 512 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to the NDSC, the decision was made in line with Section 427 of the Constitution to ensure that all eligible citizens retain their right to freely and fairly vote in the upcoming multiparty democratic general election.
