Modern smart meters that enable consumers to read their own meter usage and pay electricity bills independently are currently being manufactured in Myanmar, according to reports. As part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Electric Power and Energy to increase electricity availability nationwide, reduce power losses, and ensure a stable and continuous power supply, Union Minister U Ko Ko Lwin visited a factory producing modern smart meters in the Intagaw Industrial Zone, Bago Region, on the morning of July 20 to inspect the production of digital meters.
