Four children drowned while swimming in the Zalat Htaw Reservoir near Sab Kyar Kyin Village in Wa Mayan Village Tract, Bago Township, according to local sources. A local resident said the incident occurred on the afternoon of May 22 when the children were swimming in the reservoir. “The children are from Kyaik Pon Ward in Bago. They went swimming in the reservoir on their way home from tuition classes and accidentally drowned,” the resident said.
