Myanmar’s Vice President U Nyo Saw called for population trends, future demographic projections and regional population differences to be integrated into the country’s long-term development planning. Speaking on behalf of the President at the 2026 World Population Day ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw, he said effective policies on poverty reduction, healthcare, education, gender equality, employment and social protection depend on a clear understanding of demographic changes.
