Heavy overnight rainfall caused flooding in several townships across Yangon, forcing some residents to evacuate as water entered homes. Rain began late on July 28 and continued through the morning of July 29, the Full Moon Day of Waso. Residents in affected areas, including Insein, Shwepyitha, North Dagon, East Dagon, Mayangone, South Okkalapa and Thamine Junction, reported widespread flooding.
