Heavy Rains Trigger Flooding in Five Townships Across Kachin State
Heavy rainfall in Kachin State has caused flooding in five townships, local residents said on June 22. Flooding has been reported in parts of Mohnyin Township, Hpakant Township, Mogaung Township, Namti and Hain towns in Kachin State, with rescue operations currently underway in affected areas. According to rescue teams, the Nantin and Nan Yin streams in Mogaung have risen above danger levels, forcing more than 10,000 people to evacuate.
