Former Bombay High Court judge RC Chavan has resigned from Maharashtra's Uniform Civil Code committee after raising concerns over its functioning and a non-member's presence in a meeting. In his letter, he said the process had narrowed to yes-or-no responses even as he outlined a broader, gender-neutral and areligious vision for the code.
